On September 16 of 2009, BASF-YPC Company Limited (BYC) convened Community Communication Dialogue on IPS II Project, attended by leaders of Luhe District Government, Nanjing Chemical Industry Park (NCIP) and Yanjiang Industrial Development Zone (YIDZ), and representatives of nearby Changlu and Yudai villages. Mr. You Houping, Vice President of BYC, presided over the meeting and Dr. Blumenberg, President of BYC, extended warm welcome to the visiting neighbors at the beginning of the meeting.

Then, the director of IPS II Project briefed the attendees the investment amount and expansion plan of the project. He said BYC had well prepared to make sure life of local residents would not be disturbed by the construction of the project. The director responsible for the overhaul reported on the scheduled first overhaul to BYC plants and said the Company would strictly follow the standard operation procedure to avoid polluting and disrupting local communities and achieve a safe overhaul. Later, representatives of local residents communicated with leaders of relevant departments of BYC on the issues they were mostly concerned about.

Ms. Xie Chongxiu, Vice Director of NCIP, Mr. Yan Shouru, Vice Director of YIDZ, and Mr. Zhao Yunxiang, Vice Chief of Luhe District, made speeches respectively. They said the dialogue was a good communication channel for companies, communities and the government, so it would help to foster a cooperative and harmonious relationship between the three parties. They also said the IPS II Project would surely boost the local economy after its commercial operation, so the local government would give BYC their full support.

After the meeting, accompanied by relevant leaders of BYC, all the attendees visited the production area of BYC and reserved land for IPS II Project.
