The Operation of Camera Surveillance on DG Package InspectionJune 28, 2007

Due to an increase in exporting packed products, the average number, that requires inspection, exceeds 50000 packages per month. Our original method required the CIQ government department of Nanjing to send employees to BYC for inspection every week which in turn led to more pressure on the CIQ and our inventory. Therefore the CIQ proposed a new way to inspect DG packaging. They suggested combining the video inspection system with the site inspection. Both, CIQ Nanjing and CIQ Jiangsu Province came up with the idea. After a site investigation at BYC, CIQ Nanjing agreed to the management of the drum filling line as well as to the video surveillance.

The advantages of the new system are as follows: release of inventory pressure; increasing the application frequency and getting the results sheet much faster; the inspection can now be done everyday instead of only once a week.

The camera surveillance performs a real-time transmission of the site inspection status through the board band telecom line. The video display is saved on the telecom platform so that the CIQ employees can check and inspect immediately. We are the first enterprise in Jiangsu province that is using this kind of system. Our company has a state-of-the-art drum filling line, an excellent quality control system, and a strict operation management.

At the end of last year, led by the CIQ Nanjing, the Company installed one camera. And at the end of this June, approved by the CIQ Nanjing, the camera could be officially put into service on July 1st.

The operation of the CIQ camera inspection system was a good start. We believe its usage will highly improve customs efficiency for exporting goods.
