Dr. Paul Jacobs, Director of Human Resources Department of the company, was honored "Jiangsu Friendship Award" in 2004.

On the afternoon of September 28, 2004, Jiangsu Provincial Government held a grand ceremony to grant "Jiangsu Friendship Award" to Dr. Jacobs and other 17 foreign experts working in Jiangsu to honor their great contributions to the construction of Jiangsu.

Dr. Jacobs, in his late fifties, is a Belgian human resource expert. He has been to China twice and worked in China for six years so far. Since being appointed as the HR Director of BASF-YPC Company Limited by BASF in early 2001, he has been introducing the advanced concepts on human resources management and thus won himself respect and friendship from his colleagues.

Mr. Liang Baohua, Governor of Jiangsu Province, attended the ceremony and presented the awards to the experts personally. Mr. Liang rendered warm congratulations to the experts and thanked them for their strong support to the Jiangsu's opening and development achieved on economy, education, science and culture.

Now there are about 6,000 foreign experts working in Jiangsu. "Jiangsu Friendship Award" is the highest award issued by Jiangsu Province to foreign experts and a total of 97 foreign experts have been honored since its establishment in 1997.
