On June 18th, 2005, Mr. Ma Kai, Director of National Development and Reform Commission, inspected BASF-YPC Company Limited, accompanied by Mr. Dai Houliang, BOD Chairman of the Company, and Dr. Blumenberg, President of the Company.
In the Central Control Room of the Basic Chemicals Complex Plant, Mr. Dai Houliang and Dr. Blumenberg introduced to Mr. Ma Kai the production capacities of the Company's plants, current status of startup and intentions for the future development. Mr. Dai Houliang said "The IPS Project could never make such a big progress without the strong support from the National Development and Reform Commission. The employees possess excellent skills and qualities and have received professional training, so they are capable of successfully starting up all these advanced plants and making contributions to the development of the China's petrochemical industry". Mr. Ma Kai congratulated to the Company for its achievements, saying "The IPS Project is much concerned by the both governments of China and Germany and can play an important role in developing the petrochemical industry and boosting up the national strength. The National Development and Reform Commission will give preference to the petrochemical industry when making plans and long-term strategies. We expect further development of BASF-YPC Company Limited."
Then Mr. Ma Kai inspected the IPS Site of the Company. Mr. Luo Zhijun, Party Secretary of Nanjing, Mr. Chen Jiabao, Vice Party Secretary and Administrative Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Mr. Xi Yongming, Vice Mayor of Nanjing, and Mr. Li Qi, Director of Nanjing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, also joined in the inspection.
