Mr. Wu Bangguo, member of Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, inspected BASF-YPC Company Limited on April 29.
Around six o'clock in the afternoon, Mr. Wu arrived at the company accompanied by Mr. Sheng Huaren, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Mr. Li Yuanchao, Party Secretary of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Liang Baohua, Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Mr. Wang Jiming, Vice Chairman of SINOPEC, etc.. Mr. Dai Houliang, BOD Chairman of the Company and Dr. Bernd Blumenberg, President of the Company made presentations respectively on the Company status and the project construction progress. After that, Mr. Wu said the IPS project was much concerned by both China and Germany, which had made tremendous efforts in the project. The presentation displayed the significant change of the Company year by year, which was worth every word of congratulations. He also pointed out the Company executed a long-sighted strategy by emphasizing Sustainable Development during its project construction. In the eleventh Five-year Plan under preparation, the petrochemical industry would still be a keystone. With its good petrochemical foundation, Nanjing would remain a base for the Chinese Petrochemical Industry. The plan of China would create a better stage for the cooperation with BASF. Mr. Wu also expressed his best wishes for the cooperation between China and Germany. After the presentations, Dr. Blumenberg presented a small bag of LDPE pallets just produced and a delicate photo of IPS site to Mr. Wu and Mr. Sheng respectively as souvenirs.
