On August 19, 2009, an interviewing team made of five journalists, who were members of "Responsible Care in China" project sponsored by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, visited BASF-YPC Company Limited. The journalists interviewed on the subject of responsible care in petroleum and chemical industry with Dr. Blumenberg, President of the Company, Mr. You Houping, Vice President, and other staff working on safety, health and environmental protection. Dr. Blumenberg introduced to the interviewing team the current status of Integrated Petrochemical Site (IPS) I Project and the prospect of IPS II Project, then he continued to show the achievements on safety, health and environmental protection and social responsibilities attained by the Company since the fulfillment of "Responsible Care" in 2003. Later on, the interviewing team watched the emergency response drill. Then they toured around the site to inspect facilities for preventing and containing pollutions, the treatment to industrial wastes and occupational health. After in-depth interview and field tour, the interviewing team spoke highly of the Company for its actively supporting responsible care and consciously taking social responsibilities, praising the Company for its contribution to the sustainable development of nature and society.
