On October 26, 2008, a clear autumn day, BASF-YPC Company Limited (BYC) received many special visitors----its employees with their families. This is a chance for the family members to have a look at the place where their loved ones worked. It is clean without the big noise or bad smell as some of them had imagined before. They carefully looked at the “clean factory” where while the volunteered guides were making introduction on the buses. During the course, some questions were raised from time to time, the kids giving the right answers would get a badge engraved with the Company's name. The badge was worn on clothes and smile on the mouth, it felt nice to be an “honored BYC employee”.
The buses finally stopped at Pingdingshan Park, where various Chinese folk art were waiting for them, such as Kongzhu performance, paper cutting, decorating lollipops by hand, grass weaving, walnut carving, flour figurines, etc.. They immediately caught the kids’, even the adults’eyes, and many kids started to learning from the artists on the spot. With a big bang on the gong by Mr. Cheng Zhong, General Manager of Human Resource and Administration Division, an international flea market opened at the same time. Around 40 families brought here the never-to-be-used items so that the kids could enjoy the pleasure of buying and selling in this environment-protection act. The large-scale outdoor game also came here. The “well-protected” kids and their parents cooperated to finish the difficult task, struggled for the final victory. Laughter flew high in the area, to the sky…
Happy time always flies quickly. It was reluctant for them to say “good-bye”. As the kids sent a large painting they drew during the breaks to Dr. Blumenberg, BYC President, the lawn was echoed in the thunderous applauds…
