Uwe Kirchgaessner Receives Chinese Government Friendship AwardOctober 1, 2019

As celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the awarding ceremony of the Chinese Government Friendship Award 2019 was held in the Great Hall of the People on September 30. Being one of the award winners, BYC President Uwe Kirchgaessner joined the ceremony and received the certificate from Liu He, the Vice Premier of the State Council. In the same afternoon, Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council, met with all the awarded foreign expatriates.

The Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest honor for foreign expatriates in China, as a recognition to their outstanding contributions to the economic development and opening-up of China. Since its establishment in 1991, 1599 foreign expatriates have won the award, and a total of 100 foreign experts from 31 countries were rewarded this year.
