On November 25, BASF-YPC Company Limited (BYC) jointly organized with Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration a forum titled as “Inland River Chemical Transportation & Sustainability” aiming at sharing experience and broadening minds to realize the sustainable development of the chemical products transportation on the inland rivers.

With the support of the education bureau of Luhe district, BASF-YPC Company Limited (BYC) gave financial assistance to Ma’an Town Junior High School to upgrade its library by adding more books and facilities, thus enabling it to have a well-equipped library which provides a nice environment for study and communication.

The first production facilities in the $1.4 billion expansion of BASF-YPC Company Limited have now begun operations. Along with the successful completion of the steam cracker expansion, the newly constructed butadiene extraction plant and the non-ionic surfactants plant are now operational.

Dr. Stephan Kothrade will become President of BASF-YPC Company Limited, effective January 1, 2012. Dr. Kothrade will succeed Dr. Bernd Blumenberg, who will retire at the end of 2011.
